Description
Drayer Physical Therapy Institute would like to invite mothers to a special event focused on a proper return to running and exercising, that is tailored to the changes that occur with pregnancy and the struggles to return to your pre-baby body and workout routine. Contrary to popular belief, mothers can and do get back to training and competing in marathons, triathlons and crossfit. Most new moms do not know when or how to get back into exercising after having a child. Our event is designed for any mom, from those with infants to those who are 10 years out from their last child but never quite got back into running.
Objectives
- Learn proper exercise routines, including strengthening and flexibility, which allow safe return to running and fitness
- Understand how to safely progress mileage and intensity of training
- Learn about proper nutrition to help lose weight and to fuel your body efficiently for exercise
- Learn about changes to the pelvic floor and how to maximize your pelvic floor strength and reduce the impact of various pelvic floor disorders while exercising
Speakers
- Scott McGeary, DPT, CSCS
- Courtney Hager, RD, LDN
- Ashlie Crewe, DPT, WCS
